Run For KB                         A 10K Road Race or a 1.5 Walk

This is Run For KB!   Family and friends will know that Kenny Byers, husband of Victoria Piper, passed away on March 3, 2010, due to a lengthy illness.  Some very caring friends offered to put together a road race that will help out Victoria, Kennis and little Charlie.  Any proceeds will go toward medical bills remaining from Kenny's months-long sickness.

Kenny Byers was born in Gadsden, AL on April 23, 1962.  He eventually moved to Dallas, TX, where it was his good luck to encounter another transplant....Victoria Piper.  After a number of years together, they tied the knot on September 1, 2006.  Vickie immediately became pregnant, a joyful surprise to them both.  However, little Charlie Byers decided to enter this life a bit earlier than he should have done.  After only 25 weeks gestation, Charlie came to us on May 8, 2007.  He weighed only 1 lb, 12 oz, measuring only 12 inches in length.  Things were very difficult for Vickie and Kenny at this juncture.  Little Charlie had many ups and downs and downright scares before he finally decided to stay with us!  He came home during the first week of October, 2007, and Kenny became a stay-at-home Dad.  No one could have done it better!  He was a natural.  Between diaper changes and doctor's visits, he managed to have dinner ready every evening when Victoria came home.  Kenny knew he had a blood disorder for quite a while.  Eventually, though, these things take over, in spite of all the best efforts of man (and wife) and medicine.  Kenny succommed to his disease on March 3, 2010.
